You two are deeply in LOVE! The Canadian asks you to marry them and agrees to sponsor you into Canada as soon as you wed. The onus is for you two to convince an Immigration Officer that your marriage is genuine and continuing. You two are deeply in love so why do you need assistance from an Immigration Counsel? What could go wrong?
How does one prove that they are in a genuine relationship? Inland Spousal Sponsorship applications are not appealable to the (IAD) Immigration Appeal Division if you two get refused.
What if the applicant has a child from a previous relationship that he/she wants to include in the application? Children are a joy especially when they are young. If you sponsor his kids, you are responsible for 10 years. If you decide not to include his children how will your relationship handle the situation? You could tell them to sponsor their own kids once they obtain permanent residency and are liable for support of 3 years.
Spousal applicants who have a child in Canada or abroad are required to obtain a notarized (IMM 5604) which consents the other biological parent to agree to allow their child to immigrate to Canada.
What if the biological parent refuses to sign (IMM 5604) What if the foreign parent files for sole custody in their country? What if the foreign parent says you kidnapped your children and the immigration officer insinuates that you may be inadmissible to Canada because removing kids without consent is in violation of IRPR
36 (1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible on grounds of serious criminality for (c) committing an act outside Canada that is an offence in the place where it was committed and that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of at least 10 years.
A QUALITY Immigration Counsel will need to convince the Officer that travelling to Canada with children without consent of the other biological parent is not a crime in their country!

A QUALITY Immigration Counsel will need to convince the Officer that the couple are in fact in a genuine relationship and in their country, there is no difference between Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual status.
