Immigration Client’s - PENNY WISE & POUND FOOLISH

Every so often I run into a situation that is difficult for me to understand. I can understand a couple unemployed during this pandemic focusing on how much it costs to retain counsel for Immigration advice considering to DIY! What shocks me is those with two high incomes risking their happiness when they already are aware of a quality representative.

11 1/2 Years ago we were successful with his out-land spousal sponsorship application. That marriage ended in divorce after five years. One year ago, he marries a US citizen who is in Canada working remotely. They decide to submit an In-Land Spousal sponsorship application by themselves (DIY). It took them six long months to gather the suppourting documents and complete the forms which included an open work permit application because she had valid visitor status.

Last week they received their whole In-Land Spousal Sponsorship application back from IRCC Mississauga CPC. When they read the letter which highlighted all the reasons their application was being returned to them they decided to call me for advice.

Without informing me why their application was returned they just asked two questions.
