GETTING CONNED! CANADIAN IMMIGRATION
When it came to advertisements on social media from persons claiming they can assist you for a fee I never really cared which one was authourized to charge a fee or not because I was too busy assisting my own clients. When COVID-19 pandemic hit in March things drastically changed.
Immigration and CBSA were no longer arresting anyone and detaining them or if one got detained they were released with just their own terms and conditions. CBSA stopped all removals and closed their offices. All admissibillity hearings scheduled for my clients were postponed. The Immigration Appeal Division closed all appeal hearings with no incite into when they would start conducting appeals in the future. The ID Immigration Division cancelled all admississbility hearings for my clients that had been accused of being inadmissable to Canada. The Refugee Protection Division started emailing me stating that my asylum claimants hearings had been postponed and they would contact me to schedule a new hearing date. All city halls in Canada closed so no lovers in Canada were able to get a marriage license to wed. Even spousal sponsorships outside of Canada could not proceed because it was unsafe to fly to a foreign country to marry. All that I was doing was answering questions from current clients as to whether or not I had any updates on their files.
Then I started to actually read some of these con men advertisements on twitter and linkedin regarding Immigrating to Canada. They were telling foreigners they can get people jobs in Canada with thousands of people currently unemployed. That immigrating to Canada was so easy as long as you hired them. Some were advertising that they can get you a study permit even when all the Colleges and Universities were forced to shut their doors. Then persons started asking me about these companies claiming they had conned them. Others wanted to know whether or not they should retain their services. I was shocked to see some were being conned and others had already been conned.
NOBODY WAS INFORMING POTENTIAL CONSUMERS OF CANADIAN IMMIGRATION ADVICE HOW NOT TO BE CONNED BY THESE CROOKS. NOT ANY OF THE 13 LAW SOCIETIES OR CANADIAN FEDERAL OR PROVINCIAL BAR ASSOCIATIONS SAID (BOO) ABOUT THESE CRIMINALS! ALL THE IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT REGULATOR (ICCRC) SAID YOU SHOULD ONLY HIRE ONE OF THEIR MEMBERS WHILE NOT MENTIONING HIRING ANY LAWYER OR PARALEGAL IN THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO.
During the pandemic I decided to conduct FREE Immigration consultations on ZOOM to anyone who sent me an e-mail to decrease the chances of consumers of Canadian Immigration advice who retain some of these con men.
I decided after answering more than 20 emails regarding different “Ghost Consultant” companies I BLOGGED on how to notice if that company seeking your hard earned dollars were authourized to charge a fee for Canadian Immigration advice. I felt teaching persons seeking Canadian immigration advice on how to conduct their own due dilligence and notice if the company/person was authourized or not should help these consumers.

I shared that blog on twitter, linkedin and other social media sites but kept getting emails about various con men. I was becoming frustrated that these con men just kept advertising and consumers kept getting conned.
Now everytime I see one of their advertisements I reply by writing……….
WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING HERE? YOU ARE NOT AUTHOURIZED TO CHARGE A FEE FOR CANADIAN IMMIGRATION ADVICE!
Most quickly delete their posts.
Then this morning I got an email from Rachid who is working in UAE (occupation unknown) about a company (Magnum Staffing) https://www.magnumstaffing.ca/ claiming they can find him a job in Canada and get him a temporary work permit (TWP). Rachid just wanted to know if Magnum Staffing was doing legal services or not and if he should submit his papers to them for a position in Atlantic, Canada (AIPP).
I informed Rachid that all recruiters located in Canada’s four most western provinces (they’re in Calgary, AB) must be licensed to seek out workers in those province. Recruiters must be licensed in Atlantic, Canada province Nova Scotia as well. That TWP processing from UAE takes 33 weeks and no employer would wait that long for him to show up and take the job they offered him. That there is no evidence that anyone at MAGNUM STAFFING is a member of a provincial Law Society or a member of ICCRC which would make them authourized to charge him a fee.
I thought my terse, blunt, to the point response, would mean I would never hear from Rachid again, WRONG!
Rachid writes me back informing me his friend in Quebec had already called Magnum Staffing in Calgary, AB checking them out. Why did he write me then? He wanted to know if I knew of a trusted consultant that could find him a job offer in Canada. Never asked if I could help him so I assume I’m not trusted.
He then informs me that he is a citizen of Morrocco. Morrocco TWP processing times are only 30 WEEKS!
Rachid has never informed me of his occupation, sent me a resume, language test results or ECA.
WHEN YOUR SO DESPERATE TO COME TO CANADA YOU OPEN YOURSELF TO GETTING CONNED. ANY PERSON SEEKING A POSITION IN CANADA NEEDS TO HAVE THEIR ECA, LANGUAGE TEST RESULTS, RESUME AS WELL A POSITION IN HIGH DEMAND TO BE OFFERED A POSITION. UNTIL SUCH TIME AS TWP PROCESSING FROM YOUR VISA POST DROPS DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY (5 WEEKS) IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF A CANADIAN EMPLOYER OFFERING YOU A JOB IN CANADA!
